Kathy founded Ava Art in 2002 as a medium to exhibit and sell her digital images.  During art exhibitions, she realized that although people were most interested in the image itself and the techniques used to capture it, the finished product as a unique piece of framed art intrigued many others.

She recognized then that there was a market for unique frame designs, but it wasn't until she worked with many customers as a manager of a retail custom frame shop, that she discovered other needs that were not being addressed by conventional frame stores. In 2004, Ava Art introduced a new offering to deal with these issues.

Her portfolio of unique frame designs includes homes and offices throughout Massachusetts, southern New Hampshire, and Rhode Island, as well as commercial projects for the Lahey Clinic and the Extreme Makeover:  Home Edition television show.

Kathy’s professional affiliations include membership in the Professional Photographers Association of Massachusetts (PPAM), Professional Picture Framers Association (PPFA), Commercial Industrial Photographers of New England (CIPNE), New England Women Business Owners (NEWBO), and The Griffin Museum of Photography.
